Poetry is Here

When you don’t know what to say,

Poetry is there.

She takes your unsaid words,

Rearranges them, changes them,

And puts them on paper.

Poetry guides the pen,

Allowing you to write out what you couldn’t,

To paint what you couldn’t,

To say what you couldn’t.

Poetry is there.

Sometimes, she merely gives you thoughts,

Sometimes, she creates new styles of poems,

Sometimes, she needs a break too.

But no matter the situation,

Poetry is there.

Your words get jumbled when you try to speak—

Or they don’t come out at all.

Poetry’s pen flows freely;

Your poems reflect your innermost feelings, your life.

Poetry is always here.

This poem is about:
Me
