A Poem With No Pattern (December 5, 2015, 9:35 PM)

I won't know what love is until the loneliness retreats

I know money can't buy you happiness

because I bought all these things

and now I feel even more empty

it's been a tough week

even though everyone I love is still safe

I know they're not all at peace

and through my relentless empathy

neither can I be

I know I'm missing something

I can feel it

I thought it was there

but within me

it's not as strong as it could be
