A Poem On Burning

You say that you’re trying but all you’re doing is

saying.

Saying you are trying not

showing.

You say that you care but all you are doing is

saying.

Saying that you care but you are still not

here.

No.

You are still there. Knowing that I am sad

knowing that I need you

knowing there is something you could do.

No.

Trying is not saying, “see you soon.” and then receiving  a text message saying,

“see you tomorrow.”

No.

Caring is not saying, “You are more important.”

and then staying

there

not  HERE

where I am.

Where I need you to be.

No.

It is a lie when you say, “I miss you.”

only after I burn and scream and force you to acknowledge that I need HELP.

Oh god, I need HELP.

I need to LEAVE and I need to feel OK and I need

HELP.

NO.

It is not you, it is me.

It is everyone and it is

me.
