The Plastic Monster

A passage back to the earlier centuries

Gives us a glimpse into the unknown

When a sailors highest schooling was elementary

At a time when no one would have flown.

Ancient tales of a treacherous beast

Stalking the wake of any stray vessel

In search of a seafarer feast.

Yet, this Kraken that I speak of is no longer here

Instead there is a new threat that we should fear.

It comes from the earth

But we give it a second birth,

The oil is molded and manufactured

But isn't as easy to capture.

An all consuming fire of Plastic,

Will grow to choke out the ocean.

Under our noses it becomes more and more drastic

An unending supply of pollution

Nurdles

Killing turtles

Or a tupperware

Becoming chemical warfare.

We have brought destruction to our own front door.

The plastic wave will kill us next.

The Kraken has once again been unleashed...
