Planet Dad
A poem for dad,
A poem for dad.
What to say about
My dear loving father?
Maybe I could say
That he always bothers-
No, although it rhymes, it simply won’t work.
Maybe I could say that he can be a jer-
No, that’s not right, it’s not very fair.
I could write that his head’s full of air,
Or he has a really loud laugh and
He snores when he sleeps.
Or how only sometimes he can
Be just a little bit cheap.
No, I can’t say it,
These bad things and such.
Although I’m at a loss,
I love him too much!
Instead I’ll say how amazing he is.
Protective and loving,
Oh, what a guy!
I’ve never so much as seen him cry!
One little thing I’ll end this with
Is that his ego can get a little bit big.
Oh, no, what’s that?
His head is inflating right under his hat?
His ego is making everyone panic,
Or is it the fact that his head
Is the size of a planet?
I’m sure he’ll be fine,
He should come down soon.
After all, Planet Dad only has one moon!
