Pink

To my love--

There’s a shade of pink

in the setting sky

that reminds me of you.

The same shade of pink

I’d feel bubbling over in my heart

whenever I thought of your smile.

The same shade of pink

that used to rush over your cheeks

when I told you that I loved you.

The same shade of pink

that would appear on my chest

and on my cheeks

when I thought about us

because I couldn’t bear to mess it up.

But we messed it up.

How did we do that?

How could we love each other so much

and say all of the things we did

and still fail?

Well, I’m sure you’re busy now

with your new life and new friends

but just so you know

I miss you so much and

I think about you every day and

I’ll never stop regretting

the day I let you go.

But you need to move on

and you need to find your way

and if pluto and my love for you

align once again

you will come back to me

or I will find you

and we will go back

to being us.
