Picturesque

I see you through a shop glass
I guess we start here
Take you out to fancy dinners
Spin you around in that red sequin dress
Read you my favorite stories
Meet my parents they’ll love you
Hey it's our song on the radio
Leave your things at my place
I think I’m in love with you
Make yourself at home in my heart
-

I want to fulfill my dreams too
Let’s go on a break because it’s the mature thing to do
Screw mature!
We can do long distance
-

Take a train with a woman that won't stop coughing
The city is noisy, all these people speeding by
All to see is life and sky
Aunt Liberty showing me the lights
Where is that Chinese restaurant again?
“Move out of the way moron!”
This isn’t going to work
-

Take that train back with a man that won’t stop sneezing
Yell for a taxi to hurry. Come on! I’m right here!
Passive aggression is a native tongue around here
Watch the lights blink smaller as my breath grows faster
-

In front of your apartment because I love you
I want to marry you, I want to be with you
Legs shaking, hands twitching
Hovering over the door
Knock knock
“_______? You’re back?”
Your face glorious in that crap lighting
It’s been 6 months but you still look picturesque
Rain falling down
Drip drop drip
Sliding across my forehead right down to your door mat
Heart heavier than my wet clingy clothing
I want to hold you, tell you everything
Eyes caught, I look through glass
Behind you he stands
When? How long?
That glass must have been muggy because I never got the clear picture
I guess someone else saw you too
I guess we end here.
