Picture of Me

This is a picture taken by me,

It is a picture of me,

But I do not like what I see.

My face is too round

My complexion is too shiny

My acne is showing

My nose bridge is flat

The lighting is terrible

And I do not look presentable

The more I look at it,

The more I cringe.

Let me alter it.

From auto enhance

To high contrast,

I think I’ll leave it in

Black and white.

The effects hide my concerns.

It covers them.

It covers me.

Do I like what I see?

Let me take it again.

This is a picture taken by me

It is a picture of me

My face is still round

My complexion is still shiny

My acne is still there

My nose bridge is still flat

The lighting is still the same

And I do not look my best

But the more I look at it,

The more I realize that,

This is a picture of me.

This is a picture of me

And I like what I see.
