Petals

You pluck the petals off of  a flower

you see them sway from side to side

an endless song plays in the distance

as they place themselves gracefully upon the earth.

You whisper the word love

and no one else can hear

because it's a feeling that's so fragile

and painful to exemplify.

Love a forbiddened word used by your mind

You feel it and think it but never shall it leave your mouth.

For love much like this petal has it time within the breeze

until it falls to the ground ever so gracefully.

slow and steady it would be placed

Bug and animals would crawl right over

stomp on the perfectly fallen four leaf clover.

no luck or faith within the word love.

A silly little flower I have picked up

loves me, loves me not

the petals will still fall.

down will go my heart, brain and all.
