From the Perspective of a Longing Heart

Thu, 08/04/2016 - 19:20 -- jlc522

Sympathy lies as the stars align-
coincide with the breath of humanity’s cry
to become one with the stars and breathe
out life. Come in, come in, but keep your hands at the sides.
I will tell you of fortunes, of debacles, of lies.

Time slips a roofie into her wine,
sleep away all the pain, just let it slide
to screens and screams coming through that old box.
Sit alone, all alone, until time seems to stop.
This is the story of the one who had not.

The man in the moon has a fortune for two,
he will crown his sweetheart with love and pursue
a life of aching, of loving, of hating aloof.
Oh, those who pursue him are broken in two,
For the man in the moon has but a fortune for two.

The heart always knows what the heart wants
sweeping and swinging and dancing with loves.
Life will not fail the faithful, the true
the whole world is waiting, waiting on you.
So pack up the treasures, opportunity strikes soon.

Sympathy lies as the stars align-
coincide with the breath of humanity’s cry
to become one with the stars and breathe
out life. Come in, come in, but keep your hands at the sides
I have told you of fortunes, of debacles, of lies.
