The person everyone see's

is not the one hiding in me

on the outside a single mom

working, earning a degree

the inside a musician

hidden since graduation

the only thing that kept me okay

was to play and play and play

now kids work and school

keep me a busy fool

hidden behind the curtain

if I can open up

need to know for certain

and play with the curtain behind me

with everyone observing
