Persephone

Curly black hair

drapes around shoulders

flowers entertwined within locks

protection?

Bright red lips

a smile is worth a thousand words

Her smile lights up the room

An invitation?

An overbearing mother

a too good to be true bad boy

A love story?

Runaway girl, queen of lost souls

nice girl walking down the halls

combat boots compliment a floral dress

Your mother still hangs

your missing poster signs

on empty streets

Waiting for you to come home

thinking the bad boy is just a phase

Doesn’t she know?

He followed you,

You made your own decisions.
