Perhaps This Is Greatness

You are the teacher

And I am the student

You tell us our life's path

But do not count on me choosing it

I listen but do not hear

I read but do not see

Maybe this is the reason

You can never see anything in me

I will be more than just a life

Maybe that is all I have learned from you

I will learn more in the halls

Than being in class could ever do

You are just a symbol of what we could be

A useless machine that could say facts in it's sleep

You can read, yet you cannot see

The way someone feels with a bully by their seat

Perhaps this is greatness

The positivity in your eyes

But when you are oblivious

Your helpfulness dies

You think you class is a utopia

Even if they don't exist

I suppose for a bully

A utopia is where he lives

But I am in a dystopia

Where learning life lessons

Is dearly missed.
