I’m sorry daddy
I suppose I’m just a disappointment
Can’t be your perfect daughter
The kind, obedient one
The one who doesn’t lie and sneak around
Don’t know where you went wrong
As I did
But I’m hurting too
You’re no angel
Some pain you can’t feel yourself
Like tears you cry on the inside
So no one will see
So you don‘t look weak
A mask that fools everyone even the person with it on
Scars so deep that you forget yourself
It’s easy to point fingers
And pass judgments
You and I we’re just alike
Maybe too much
But I’ll always be your daughter
Your little sunflower
I hope
I hope we can move past this
That you’ll forgive me
And maybe we’ll be happy again
Like before
The years so long ago we can’t even remember

My poem was inspired by my parents constant dissapointment in the rebellious and immoral things i was doing over my past teenage years.
