People Change

Living in a world without a care,

I began wondering how life would be there.

Would I find true love? Will I be free to do whatever I wanted?

Would I be able to watch movies on my own that were haunted?

The adult life seemed like it was the dream.

Television poisoning my mind with expectations. They only got worse.

The day I finally turned thirteen. I was officially a teenager.

Finally, I could do whatever I wanted to! I was on top of the world!

But the older I got, the unhappier I got with my appearance, and life itself.

I began to think I wasn't good enough because my friends dated boys while I

pretended Barbie was still Ken's wife.

As I grew older, my motivation to live slowly disappeared.

But through my unhappiness, I discovered things I loved.

Art healed my broken heart.

Singing mended my confidence.

Writing changed my life.
