A Penny For Your Thoughts

Sun, 05/12/2013 - 18:21 -- CCO95

A penny for your thoughts,
A nickel for your mind,
Worth much less than a gem found in a mine.
They value the mines more than the mind,
Diminishing its worth with the passage of time.

Gadgets and Gizmos have taken the place,
Of what used to be in the brain space.
Minimizing intelligence
Leads to ignorance itself.
What used to be a value is now on the back shelf.

But those over there,
Those far away,
Do not have gadgets with which they can play.
Instead they work to get where we are.
Hoping their skills will get them far.
But until then they’ll keep mining the gems.
