Patheticism

Get inside the heads the jackknife does of those who were its sticks

it whittled carved and stabbed and jabbed

and form-ed jagged slits

and made them bare

and no one really cared

and the jackknife said it did

it proclaimed what was questionably fair

and so it did share

and not so carved was the sissoo tree

that the bark could not repair

but much more carved was the moonbeam branch

and so the sissoo died.
