What makes me happy?
What uplifts me?
What in the world has the power to do such a thing?

I hear noises
all around me
and I know that
some of the noises aren’t just noises
but magical harmonies and ingenious intricacies.

Music.
Music makes me happy.
Music empowers me.
Music uplifts me,
gives me strength,
gives me emotion,
gives me passion.

No other power in the world,
no drugs nor titles
or money or power
can replicate the feelings of happiness
that music gives me.

Whether I’m listening to creations of Eric Whitcare,
Whether I’m listening to the symphonies of Dmitri Shostakovich,
Whether I’m listening to the cheering ballads of The Beatles,
Whether I’m listening to the new age masterpieces of Yanni,
Whether I’m listening to the bashful works of Dream Theatre,

I feel as happy as I can.
I feel as comforted as I can.
I feel like I belong to the world of music
and no power in this world can take me away from that.

Music makes me happy.
Music has the power to uplift me.
Music will always have a special place in my heart that nothing can replace.
I am home.
