Party After Dark

My eyes are lying

Lying to me

I am surrounded by human skins

That's what my eyes see

But my body hums

With the knowledge that I am surrounded by devils

They press close to each other

Talking, teasing, mocking

It only a moment, I can feel it

Until they start attacking

Me as I stand, tense,

at the edge of the crowd.

I should have known

only fiends gathers after the light fades

The smell of food, the music, the games

They're all just tricks of the trade

My eyes are lying; they must be

A host of hostile demons

I can barely bare to speak

When spoken to

Can barely make conversation

Knowing that at any moment I'll have to fight through

These lies of my eyes

Claiming to be humans at a party
