Paper Things

The hopes and dreamsOf living thingsWere carried upOn paper wings. Through the skyThese pages soared,Protecting truth from lieWith paper swords. In the mindThe parchment bloomedWith words so kind,Paper forms assumed. Down the rivers,Thin pieces floated,Keeping safe the giversOf lights in paper coated. The death and sorrow - black in print - would also come were it tommorowBut at paper hope they would still hint. Life is shelteredWithin the scrolls,Safe and sound,With paper souls. All the words,Upon the page,Were written by non-paper people -Trapped withinapapercage.
