Paper cranes and Butterflies

I miss walks on the bridge with you,

Long tight hugs and midnight drives,

Your dancing eyes, a brilliant blue,

I miss paper cranes and butterflies

It hurts to think of the songs we shared

Now you won’t even meet my eyes

This silly girl really thought you cared,

Oh I miss paper cranes and butterflies

Cranes that we folded now lay in the dirt

And butterflies are falling from cloudy skies

I’m not invincible, your silence really hurt

Why do I miss paper cranes and butterflies?

If I got a net to catch them, would the

Butterflies return? If I smoothed out

The paper, could we re-fold all our cranes?

Because I miss paper cranes and butterflies.
