In the Palm of Your Hand

You've got me in the palm of your hand,

because deep down,

I'm a good girl.

I'm a kind girl.

I'm a caring and devotedly loving girl.

I want to make you happy.

I want you to be proud of me.

I want to give you every ounce of love I have to offer.

It's just the way I am.

It's the way I've always been.

Loyal and loving.

Trusting and sensitive.

But I'll tell you,

I'm not foolish.

I've felt pain up, down, left and right.

I know what I deserve,

and I'll put up a damn good fight.

If I'm going to give you my all,

you'd better deserve it.

You'd better work to show me that you care,

because you know I'd give you my everything.

I'm wiser than you think.

My giving nature isn't naive,

and it's sad if that's what you believe.

Those that are wise know what we all crave

is never-ending love.
