Pain

Thu, 01/17/2019 - 17:29 -- Kettle

There are many different chains,

Some worse than others.

But the fear of pains,

Is worse than any other.

To live with constant thoughts

Of what could happen if. . .

You feel just as queasy

As when you look over a cliff.

To be afraid of pain,

I don’t think is too common.

Not the way I am, at least;

Hardly anything is calmin’.

But with the Holy Spirit

I can put aside my fears,

Because I fully trust that He

Will guide me through the years.

Though I still get terrified

Of any expected pain,

With God by my side,

THE FEAR, I CAN DETAIN.
