Pact With the Devil

This soul, heaven forbid, not just any mortal;

Shattered fragments of glass now at the portal.

Memories aflutter, a sewn quilt of that neural;

The lost words scattered not singular but pleural.

This heavenly creature here was left to peer,

On his deceased body now prominent & near.

For this purgatory was renounced by the gods;

And thunder who comingled for this bloke, Todd.

Death pronounced where they found him ablaze;

In the car oh-so mangled which burned for days.

For Todd had contracted with Lucifer quite often;

This final pact sealed shut, as in nails to the coffin.

Stardom superficially is at the heart which fluttered;

“Worth the price of the soul” he once muttered.

Once purgatory becomes a distant memory forever;

He will be toasted in the flames of hell altogether.

For making such a deal with the god of the fires

Leaves no room for regret or maladjusted liars.
