Overcoming Obstacles

Dedication is what I have learned to be

Growing up I was living according to me

Never was I looking at the future and what it will hold

I felt like my parents nagged but they always told

Potential is a word that would describe who I am

Actions told otherwise when I rather not study and was eating food like ham

Reality woke me up when I attended a community college for the first day

While I was stuck in this bad school, my friends were going to better schools far away

Straightening myself up was mandatory, not an option

Reflecting on my past seeing how my behavior was a toxin

Now as I am ready to transfer from my community college

I need scholarship money to expand my knowledge

I will be entering the University of Oregon this Fall

However, the amount of money I can pay for my college is small

Scholarships will benefit me so my loans will reduce

When I graduate, I won't have to pay a ton of money and get to enjoy my orange juice

As you can see, I have overcome the obstacle of not giving it all

Therefore, I would benefit from this scholarship immensely: Thanks y'all!
