Overcome

(poems go here)

The doors open swiftly now,
A new dawn is approaching.
With cautious steps and distrustful eyes
the soul is slowly searching
A way to adapt and survive
In a world suffocating with prejudice
Where one must fall in order to rise,
the tables now are turning.
Reaching out in the sky,
there will be no need for stars tonight.
Wish from the heart, forget about chance
yet the conflagaration still is burning.
A failure to cry, a failure to feel has left us
mute and numb.
For we seek a book by its cover
and a person for their visage.
But once the break of day has come,
and the fresh morning dew has painted the ground
the tides will have turned and fear will not burn.
There will be no need for stars tonight
for we will overcome...
