Out to Sea

I took my dark thoughts down to the seashore,

But they just stayed inside or behind me.

I don't want to be with them anymore,

So I treid to free them out to sea.

No matter how hard I try to let them go,

The crawl back to the deep depths of my mind.

I try to leave them with the ebb and flow,

But not even the ocean makes them shine.

I stayed until the moon lit up the sea,

Glistening with every heartbeat of night.

As freckles of stars danced in front of me,

Calmness overwhelmed and attacked my fright.

Everything in life is temporary,

Even in the thoughts that seem to tarry.
