Out of focus

Philippians 2:3

Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition or vanity,

each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another

as more important than yourself.

Out of focus

Traveling on a freight train in search of 1st class

Do I deserve to be served for who I pretend to be?

From the drip into the rain ... carrying my past

Losing all the nerve ... in my search to be free

The noise of the wheels ... moving with the rails

Brings rhythm to my heartbeat ... as dullness be my cloak

Life lost its appeal ... as it turns out to be so frail

Nothing left to feel ... for self in a lost remote.

Alone did I enter ... lonely I will leave

What was with the effort ... now nothing seems left?

All now seen is empty ... nowhere a place of relief

soon the final court ... for the totally bereft.
