Our World is Beautiful

Our world is beautiful

With flowers and trees blooming in the summer,

Fields of ice and snow in winter,

Hillsides burning with colors in the fall,

And the fresh newness of green

Encompassing everything in spring.

Our world is beautiful,

And it is threatened by the sickness of human greed.

The greed of only a few

Seeks to destroy all human life,

And perhaps life itself.

This dark storm cloud can be seen on the horizon,

And it is fast approaching.

We must act now to stop its advance,

For only by our action can our lives be saved.

This greed would burn our planet,

Heat it until no hope for the preservation of life can remain.

We must stop this warming and undo its effects,

For our world is beautiful,

And I do not want to watch it die.
