Our Purpose Is True

I always knew my purpose was true

I could see it when the skies turned blue

From the greyest clouds it came anew

I always saw it within you

My people have been hiding

Seeking their truths in the right timing

While the world simply strolled by

They could not see the fireflies

Their thoughts were not their own

Until the light came upon their throne

The unaware ones became the minority

For the unrest within the awareness

Rose a malignant disease among the majority

A disconnection from body, mind, and earth herself

Slaughtering animals in the name of wealth

It spread like a malicious cancer

Systemic throughout the population

We always knew we belonged

Not among them, but to sing a song

Only those in our tribe appeared

That’s how we knew it was true

Thats how we knew they could hear

Witches, hags, hippies, wizards

You name it, the unaware have never faltered

To criticize what they don't understand

To kill a population, to take their land

A skin color, different from their own

Rape, pillage, murder

They could never come home

And their people still sing with tears

Of the years, the years, the years

When we lived without any need

Life has always been here for us

Whether or not we show up

That’s where the difference lies

You will live, and you will die

With smoke in your lungs

Or with flowers in your hair

Life is meant for all of us

Although our purpose isn’t clear

We are here, we have arrived

It is time.
