Our Education System

Since we were little we have been told we could be anything we wanted to be

A Doctor, a Teacher, or a Veterinarian.

However this same place that said you can do anything also tells you that you can only be measured by certain standards.

We are measured by letters and numbers.

These symbols made by our teachers' pens define what others think of us, even if they never have met us.

Numbers and Letters can shrink us down or build us up

They shape us, and shapes the way we are able to shape others.

So instead of teaching our treasured youth that they can do anything,

We should instead teach them not be limited or defined by the constructs around them.

That a 97 affects students the same way a 56 does.

Our Minds are capable of so much potenial and unimaginable ideas that

Can not be sumed up on a report card.
