On Our Canvas

We paint this picture together

Because we can both see true beauty.

The two of us look beyond the surface,

And we see what most people cannot.

There is a meaning to our artwork,

Because on our canvas

We have created a story.

Together we paint our adventure

Starting with the dull, gray rocks on the beach.

But to us, those seemingly ordinary rocks are

Prettier than the unique design on a snowflake.

That beach is our starting line,

Where our race began.

On our canvas we paint our feelings with colors

Softer than a mink fur coat

And more delicate than porcelain china,

For every color we paint has a reason.

Every moment I spend with you adds to our painting.

Everything we see contains a memory.

Everything around us brings us closer together.

Everything is a scene

And we are in it.
