Challenged by the passion to continue my passions

Caught up wondering  touching a key on the piano would be too much

Strumming my guitar or play an ode to Obatala on my conga is a thought in the back on my mind

should I open my mouth to sing?

These are the hard times all over again

Why is it such a hard time to express beauty through music

more of my passion is caught up in the current state of white supremacy racial wars in America

i should be writing more. I should be playing more

Sister Rosetta Tharpe never gave up

Toni Morrison never gave up either

neither did Maya Angelou

Assata Shakur kept going

Malcolm and Martin

did they stop singing in the Haitian revolution?

did Nelson Mandela stop writing in jail?

then I cannot give up either
