Optimist (And Besides, Who Said You Were Wrong?)

Hearts beat on

It never did take long to master the wonder of summers

And winter was by far wonderful

(And everybody stays strong)

Nothing ever went wrong

You meant rhymes were fierce and dangerous. Walls tumble

But you never said so it's not your fault

(Never your fault, blameless: not yours)

Things can't continue. We won't be hers theirs his

Three words pound eyes bright sparks persist

And there's always the one day (that won't exist)

When small sparks will become flames (you don't exist)

Waiting no frame no place to sit, waiting for this

Happen explode collide assist

In breaking all that I ever missed

(Rhyme rhyme rhyme, rhyme line line) break

Let the ice fly as the flames fall back down to dark halls

Brick walls that we're up against, freefall

Not good words but that's alright I guess

It's all up to me I'm so high up in the hierarchy now

Now back to second person, I don't want a thing to do with what I say

No other days

Would you take for true what marvelous games

We play wait stay things shall change and

We invented time machines as a symbol of tomorrow hope

The glittering things reform (reborn)

Don't kill me

Don't kill the things that take the longest to compute

If they have thoughts too

Inside you're pure and unblemished and there's nothing you need to tell me

Or ask (how are you perfection)

If it's so impossible?

A hologram of you is imprinted in the hollows of my

Shallow inexperience

I'm just not old enough to see

Or am I?

(Nobody knows enough to tell me)

Silence falls right back to everybody

And fall fall fall to dark dark skies full of pinprick light and bloodlets

Because what doesn't kill you always likely leaves you bleeding

Beating hard on plaster bars (aching for the drum) thunder

Beauty sleeps for the time being, would you stay?

You think I was never broken and there's always been a place there in the light

But maybe both of us are blind:

Don't you see, there must have been a mistake made somewhere

What have I done now...

(Whisper please)

Don't repeat the rhymes and phrases

(Whisper please)

Let the silence rise to greatness

(Whisper please)

Leave understanding-spaces

For the ungifted.

Uplift us

(In whispers)
