oppression

Black People Poem"
black is whack
white is right
yellow we can settle
red you're lucky you ain't dead
blacks are oppressed into believing that the color of their skin is a curse
the thickness in their thighs, roundness of their eyes, the nappy-ness of their hair...all a curse
and young woman and children are forced to watch their husbands and
fathers be torn apart by enslavement of the government
endured in slavery, mentally abandon from the pursuit of happiness seen in the
"Oh Great White" American Dream
then hopes and promises become falsely chased and lost in
a white mask as heavy as foam and thick as fog.
Lost.
Lost in a place where there's neither beginning nor end
a place where you can only drown in the Sea of Desire, and hang heavily on denial
a place where your mental stability can only be determined on your appearance, which
lacks the superiority of self respect and confidence
then thrown away, thought as trash
thought of nothing more than a dog or whore, controlled by the
chains placed around our necks
disable from the mind but strong in our soul
creative in arts of resistance and rebellion but dull in the enforcement of military cooperation
place in a barrier isolated from the world and thrown under the table,
left for the dead
lost in the mind games of the oppressor
stuck in the enslavement strictly designed for beautiful colored people
strictly made to contain us, have us believe we're nothing more than animals
designing us to believe chains were meant for our people, controlled into thinking and
trusting in the fear that conquer our soul and mental stability
lost in a barrier that only grows smaller, threatenin' to chain us down as they once did our ancestors
lost in a barrel that tries to destroy us, and creates soldiers.
fighting in war. fighting for the rich and killin' the poor
lost in a barrier that creates a hustler, ducking the cops and hustlin' the streets.
lost in a bad game of cops and robbers, stuck running from da police
we lost in this world and can't find no peace, government got us down
and keepin' their hands on their piece
we lost in the world wit no footprint to follow nor evidence to find.
no more runaway letters or secret goodbyes.
we stuck in isolation, when will we be released?
damn we just wanna have some peace.
