One Word

Note (not part of the poem) - The person who I am writing about is someone who used to teach at my school. She left in December 2019, and we haven’t heard anything from her since. Her school email doesn’t work, and I can’t find her on the internet. So, this is a last attempt, a desperate cry for help, hoping, that she could one day come back. Also, I don’t mean love in a romantic way. She’s more of a mother figure to me. If you’re somehow reading this, I’m pretty sure you know who I am. Hint - I gave you the Math Teacher of the Decade Award (because you deserve it). This is for you.

Love

If I could describe my feelings for you in one word, it would be just that;

Love

When even mundane activities beam with light because of your presence, it’s definitely

Love

When I call out your name, in a childish hope that you would come and save me from the nightmare I live in, it has to be

Love

When I crave something so simple as your sweet, heavenly voice, it’s certainly

Love

When I dream of the 2 of us being reunited in Jannah, where there is eternal happiness and no sorrow, it cannot be anything other than

Love

That one word, that feeling, is reserved for only you.

I love you, Nealam Khan.
