One Nation Refusing Separation

Water fountains, buses, and diners built as barriers to hold us apart. The men and women of a country built on morals that should strike us deep in the heart. Men beaten because they may talk a little differently. People hated because they are the same as me. Children on the playground told not to smile at me. They say I'm worthless, but I choose to disagree. I believe that there's something deep down that can draw us all together. This country won't rot in this condition forever. I believe we are strong enough as a nation to fight. Not with violence, but together, for our rights. I believe in a world where I can go to school with everyone I see. Not only with the children who look like me. America, in this state, is bound by bigotry. I know it is my responsibility to set this country free. Many may hate and slander me, but I'm just a man who has a dream.
