I look at the world today
How so many blessings came our way
How one man he took a stand
Freedom was not in our land

Equality it was separate for all
Fictional Fairness yes it caused the fall
Jim Crow laws made for the worst
Awful Discrimination was always forced

One man he took a stand
Peacefully he assembled everyone at hand
Martin Luther King Jr. made a change
The people he touched were of broad range

The ideas of freedom were like dominoes
People decided to get on their toes
Thurgood Marshall he came about
The first supreme court justice with out a doubt

I look at our world today
How so many blessings came our way
I live in a town where freedom stands
because one man who lived on the land
