A ONE OF A KIND BLACK WOMAN

A ONE OF A KIND BLACK WOMAN

Beauty

Fondness

Kind heart

Sturdy, adventurous

Bold

That describes a black woman

One that cares for others

And smiles

Now that’s a strong black woman

Petite hair

Surely don’t care

With lengthy nails

And a speck of shimmy shine

A women that savors bees

Loved kids

And MOST importantly,

EDUCATION

Now that’s an exceptional ebony woman

A woman that not only loved her family

But someone who was helpful in every way

A woman that loved arts and crafts

One that

That expressed things in a different way

Not only did she have short hair, long nails and a lot of personality

She was brave

Now that’s a unique type of African American woman

Great posture

Outgoing

And blessed

She's someone that I am so grateful to have known

She's generous and courageous

And sweet

She adores to write and read

Books and magazines are what she reads

A black woman

A woman I knew, yes indeed

A woman that made a difference

I'm a young lady that would like to shadow her footsteps in a way

A rose is the flower I compeer her with

The smell of pineapples is what I match her personality with

The pure love she shows makes me exceedingly emotional

Memory cherisher is what I categorize her as

A mighty black woman she is

This is a black woman that will consistently be recalled

Who is this woman that I am conversing about?

She is Deborah Barriere

My aunt that had a marvelous heart

She will always be remembered

A ONE OF A KIND BLACK WOMAN

And a ONE IN A MILLION

BOLD

STRONG

SMART BLACK WOMAN

That will always be remembered

Award winning lady

With a passion of leadership

An angel she has become

With my God in heaven above

A mark she has left for others to cherish

A mess she created

A lot of stuff outdated

She rests in peace

A ONE OF A KIND BLACK WOMAN

Indeed, she was..

A ONE OF A KIND BLACK WOMAN!!

This poem is dedicated to my aunt Deborah who has went to be with the Lord. Rest in peace
