One Gun Shot

You tried to kiss me on my forehead
while I was busy playing on the computer.
Little did I know that was the last kiss you’d give.
I had the chance for a goodbye,
Papaw,
And I missed it.
You were my moon and my stars
gone in an instant.
With one gun shot,
one bullet through the chest,
two hearts stopped:
mine for a millisecond
and yours forever.
I don’t know
what you felt or
why this occurred.
Was I part of the reason?
Could I go back to that day?
Would I have known?
That day was the last time
I Saw your wise eyes through your glasses,
heard your gentle voice
saying
“Good morning, I love you”
All while feeling your scratchy whiskers on my shoulder as
you came behind me and
hugged me
with your
warm
embrace
for the last time.
I remember our last times
together.

This is absolutely beautiful: "With one gun shot,
one bullet through the chest,
two hearts stopped:
mine for a millisecond
and yours forever."

(If this is based on a true event and I feel like it is) I can't explain why

but I feel for you... I hope that you heal quickly and never forget

to feel loved and love despite this event.

(If this is just a poem) You did a wonderful job. I am particularly sensitive,

But I do feel the narration gave it a personal touch that definitely affected my emotions.

Goodness.. I dont know what to say, I love it so much. Please keep writing. I know what it's like to be on the edge of possible suicide but to loose someone that way....I could never imagine the pain... If this really happened to you, I think you did the best thing by witing about it and letting it out.

readiing this poem made me cry, it is so so sad,  losing somebody suddenly and then having to regret the last goodbye,
