Once upon a time, there

Once upon a time, there was a princess named Paisley. Paisley lived in a far off land called Deretaga. Deretaga was a small island in the Bermuda Triangle. Paisley and her mother were the royals of the island, but there was something different about this royal family. Instead of the normal patriarchy that we are used to, it was a matriarchy system on the island of Deretaga. The people of Deretaga used far more advanced technology then we do now. They knew how to time travel, clone, and even heal open wounds with a drop of medicine. Paisley was next in line to rule, right after her mother Cecily. She led the island through chemical wars, plagues, and good things such as the bicentennial they celebrated the year before. Cecily had been slowly getting more and more fragile and older. She had been teaching Paisley all about the ways of life on the island so she would be prepared to rule when Cecily passed on. One day when Cecily was showing Paisley the time traveling room, Cecily’s closest advisor Juniper, pulled her aside for an urgent message. Paisley was curious what they were talking about so she hid behind a control panel and listened into their conversation. She heard Juniper describing a large building that had been breached. Her mother Cecily had a very worried look on her face and started pacing back and forth. Paisley wondered to herself what large building she hadn't known about in the past and what could be so important about someone getting into or out of it. Her mother excused herself and told Paisley they would meet for dinner. Paisley agreed but decided to follow them to see where they went. Juniper and Cecily got into a pod and flew to the other side of the island. Paisley decided to find another way to the other side of the island so she took her favorite fly shoes, which are motorized flying shoes. While she was on her way, Paisley stumbled across a person on the island she had never seen before. This person had very short sloppy hair, was covered in sweat, and looked very frail. She decided to stop and help the person whom she had never met. She asked the mystery person, “Hi my name is Paisley, do you have a name?” the person responded in a groggy voice, “My name is 4457.” Paisley was so curious who this person was she decided to take them back to her palace and help the stranger. Once back to the palace, Paisley hid the person in her room, gave them some food and started asking questions. She asked, “so where do you live on this island?” 4457 answered “I don't know where I am or how I ended up here, I had to escape from that awful place.” Paisley pondered when 4457 said that. She asked next, “Why is your hair so short and why do you talk so much deeper than the rest of us?” 4457 responded, “I am a man, do you not know what a man is?” At this point Paisley had only heard one thing about men in her entire life. When Paisley was ten, her mom had told her once that men were bad examples for the people of the island and they  were banished for everything they had done to the people. When Paisley asked what had happened her mom shut down and walked out of the room, never to speak about it again. Now 18, Paisley still remembered this and knew she had to talk to her again. She told 4457 to stay in her room while she went and talked to her mom. 4457 said “No! Do not tell Ms. Cecily I’m here, she will end me. I will be punished and forced to do more work.” Paisley asked him what kind of work he did for her? Before he responded there was a knock at the door. Cecily was banging on Paisley’s door yelling and screaming at her to open it. She hid 4457 and opened the door to talk to her mother. Cecily screamed, “I know he’s in there so let him out and he may live.” Paisley played dumb, but her mother was enraged. She burst into her room and rummaged through everything, looking for the escaped man. Paisley asked her to explain what was going on and she made a promise with her mother that if she told her why she needed 4457 so badly she would give him up. Her mom sat her down and told the whole story. She explained her hatred toward men and all that they stand for. Instead of kicking them off the island Cecily ordered them to slavery. She made them power all the technology in the kingdom by running on hamster wheels all day long with no food or breaks. She also made some do the jobs that nobody else wanted to do such as picking fruit and digging ditches. When Paisley heard this she was astounded and told her mother to show her the building where all the men were. Her mother refused and demanded to have 4457. Thinking quick on her feet, Paisley grabbed 4457 from behind the curtains jumped out the window and asked him to take her to his work building. He agreed and they ran full speed. Once they arrived, Paisley could not believe what she was staring at. It was a large store house filled with men running on hamster wheels. She walked in and screamed at the top of her lungs, “STOP, EVERYBODY STOP!” As soon as she did this, work halted. She said “You should not be working as slaves to us. We need to work together and respect one another. You will all be payed equally and fairly and treated with respect.” Everyone cheered and hoorayed! But when Paisley turned around, she saw Cecily standing right behind her. Her mom asked “And what gives you the right to do that?” Paisley responded “I am ruler now, you are banished from this island on crimes of unfair treatment to the other sex and slavery. These are crimes that are not tolerated on this island and therefore you will be no more.” As she said this two men took Cecily by the arms and carried her away never to be seen again. Paisley ruled the island of Deretaga building unity with the men for many years. Once she retired, her only child August took control of the throne as the first male ruler of Deretaga.

The End.
