Once upon a dream

Still, in a room of prismed light

Reality fading into the silent night

A fairytale unfolds inside gilded halls

The dream has begun, wonderland calls

Glittering crystal, marble, and gold

Scenes of splendor, the courts of old

Rich brocade, damask, and silk

A Persian cat supping upon milk

The ambiance of an amber fire

The far off cry of a beckoning lyre

Do not fear, for you’re not alone

Someone is there welcoming you home

As you stare into the mist, hope blooms within

Their voice comes softly, riding the midnight wind

You wish to remain but the curtain must fall

Your straining ear catches the whisper of their final call

One day, no longer a dream will it be

But the never ending fantasy of you and me.
