Once upon ...

Ecclesiastes 3:11

11 Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time.

He has planted Eternity in the human heart, but even so,

people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

Once

Once I used to run and now I’m like a turtle.

Once I used to swim now a log in the water.

Once I used to smile at unexpected hurdles.

Once I used to care and now do I bother?

Once it was important to be recognized.

Once I felt the need to find appreciation.

Once I sought attractive within my compromise.

Once I thought my flesh could escape deprivation.

Once I thought my life was my experience.

Once I thought my children were entities on their own.

Once I thought my future was an inheritance.

Once and forever I’m assured Christ’s on the Throne.
