Ol’ Hallows' Eve

Run, run, run away.

Here are the monsters come to play

Swinging bags of sugary treats

Up and down the busy streets.

Back and forth from door to door

Singing “Here I am; give me more.

And if you don’t, your choices be

A trick for you or a treat for me.”

Continued offerings to seem somewhat daunting

As gumdrops, chocolates and sweets prevent playful haunting

While they dance and play under a cold, moonlit night

Among the trolls and witches and occasional sprite.

As the last home is looted of tasty delights

The creatures scatter among the colorful sites.

For the sun be here to the night’s reprieve

Another year has passed for Ol’ Hallows' Eve.
