Ode to the Betrayal and the Ultimate Sacrifice

As Christ, Savior and King, prepared for death

Shared one Last Supper of bread and of wine

The one to whom he gave sop would betray

Then Simon Peter, lying on Christ's breast

Asked unto him, "Lord who is it?" in time

That would do so in a near-future day

Twas given to Judas Iscariot

Who left immediately from the room

Soon Jesus Christ was pierced, by whip was cut

30 pieces of silver was his doom

To fulfill His Father's plan for all men

That they might return unto Him again.
