Oceans Despondency

Mazu the goddess of the sea

Who watches over the vast ocean

And gives the fishermen her guarantee

But that was long ago

And little did she know

What toxic potion the ocean would become

In the 10th century, where the water of the ocean swirled

Mankind’s only concern was to collect the most fish

12 centuries later, into the modern world

Our concerns are bigger, and now preserving sea life is our biggest wish

Poor Mazu frowns as she watches the tide

For she didn’t know that controlling the ocean had cause this

She wonders if she hadn’t put in her efforts, then the sea life would have been in an eternal bliss.
