The Oceans of Despair

Those devilish voices

The apathetic taunting

Assertive and passionate about their tactful deeds

I keep vigilant as I watch for callous creatures who jaunt to vulnerable prey

They circumnavigate pathways as if they cared about the consequences they make happen

Bleak and exposed like an open book, waiting to be ripped apart by carelessness

Feeling as though there will be no light at the end of the tunnel

Wanting to sprint through life to the page that says “The End”

The thoughts take over, leaving a trail of bones in my place

Fervent feelings, incompetence to life.

If only they knew…

If the cruelty had vanished and not lagged

I had been naive, soon leading to a timid and weary life full of surly beasts

But what if they had stopped

Stopped conversing in agitation about the eccentric individual

If I wasn’t evasive and had not let the torture slip through my fingers like dripping gore

If only I had gotten a taste of serenity

Oh what it would be like without the abuse

I have to believe that the tide is going to bring us to the sands of rebirth and willingness

I have surrendered to the reality of those who became persistent

The big, sturdy ship of life will bring me to shore once again to give me a second chance

Reality is intimidating however not enough to let it’s sour breath bleed down my bare back

Absolute determination is a breakthrough from reluctancy

I had a life

And just like a rope

I knotted it

Trying to secure it

But only to realize

I had cut the rope

Long ago
