Obedience

1 Samuel 15:22

22 Then Samuel said,

“Does the Lord take pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices
as much as He does in obedience?
Certainly, obedience is better than sacrifice;
paying attention is better than the fat of rams.

Obedience

What do I have to offer ... what really can I give?

What do I think He wants from me ... what does it take to live?

My “own” righteousness and works ... aren’t they just like straw?

Isn’t my “own” love for self ... exposing to all my flaws?

My “own” really shows who I am ... as paves the way to hell.

My “own” brings to the surface ... the things that always smell.

Die to self is the answer ... die quickly so I may live

Die to “own” for hereafter ... so I may learn to give

What you do unto others ... is like doing it to Me in deed

“Feed the hungry, dress the naked” ...  that should set you free.

“Visit the captured and cry with the sad” ... that is the way to go.

This should not be too difficult ... as everyone should know.
