O Gandalf! My Gandalf!

O Gandalf! My Gandalf! our fearful quest’s begun.

Our group will travel brook and dale, the burglar sought will come.

Great Smaug is near, his fire I fear, a battle soon is brewing.

Though first we must cross Middle Earth, the Misty Mountains looming.

But O wargs! wargs! wargs!

O the creatures fierce, not fair.

They chase us down and fill our hearts

Full of pure despair.

O Gandalf! My Gandalf! your eagles save us true.

They lead us now to Beorn who will let our group renew.

With his advice we enter Mirkwood confident and glowing,

But now you leave without a trace, and evil comes a-prowling.

Come Gandalf! dear Wizard!

And save us from the lair

Of spiders, large and hungry too

That fill us with despair.

O Gandalf! My Gandalf! dear Bilbo saves us then.

He also helps escape the elves, and leads us to some men.

The town is near the Lonely Mountain, Smaug smells us approach.

We soon will fight, our gold’s in sight, the cave we will encroach.

Exult O dwarves; sing elves and men!

For we with polished air,

Raid the cave where great Smaug lies,

Causing our despair.
