Now I Lay Me

Now I lay me down to sleep

my fingers are cold, as are my feet

I pray the Lord my soul to keep

my family and friends around me weep

If I should die before I wake

dreams and plans I didn’t make

I pray the Lord my soul to take

I was the girl of hidden fires,

icy glaciers and crystal spires

The drop of dew, caressing the rose,

the torment of wonder, the wails of woes

I left much behind, and have much ahead

I died as I lived, I made my own bed

Bedtime rhyme? I think not! It's very grown up! Thanks for this wonderful poem!
